According to the german Wikipedia, the internal designation is not W203-2 but CL203 or CL203-2. The word codename is misleading because it is a official model designation although not the selling name.212.23.103.110 (talk) 14:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- You're right, another Wikipedia is no citable reference. But considering the situation of Mercedes-Benz I would grant the german Wikipedia a higher authority than the english. Use of liftback.

This article claims that liftback isn't a common term in the US, yet its also unused in the UK, If the fact stated is true, why is the term Liftback used in the article at all?(86.31.179.22 (talk) 21:45, 31 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Merge with Mercedes-Benz CLC-Class

The article has been merged without prior notice or discussion with Mercedes-Benz C-Class. I have reverted because this should be discussed before such a major change. I disagree because it is announced that a new front wheel drive CLC-Class will be unveiled next April and this car will have nothing to do with the C-Class. There was no discussion to split the articles in the first place. Also, Mercedes-Benz has not yet announced a new CLC-Class and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball or an outlet for original research. The "new" CLC-Class if that what is turns out to be named is said to be quite a different model—a front-wheel drive coupe-esque sedan based on the B-Class platform. The previous model was simply a three-door C-Class with different front-end styling, even sharing the 203 series model code with its sedan donor model.

I totally agree. The CLC class bears almost resemblance to the C class. For a start, the CLC180 and CLC200 are two door coupes and not saloons. Merging them makes about as much sense as merging with the Ford Fiesta page!!! 102.165.66.39 (talk) 12:18, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prices

Forbes actually did a price comparison of the Sportcoupe versus other rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Audi TT, so that backs up this statement "Like the BMW 3-Series hatchback, the Sportcoupé proved unpopular with the younger buyers it was targeted towards, due to high prices compared to the lower entry-level models it was competing against".
