Was there really a C55 AMG based on this body?

[edit]

I see it listed in the engines section, but I personally have never heard of a C55 based on this bodystyle. However, I live in the US, and I know that there were a number of AMG variants we never officially saw. Was this one of them, or is this vandalization that no one has caught until now? Table in "Engines" section contains confusing codes

[edit]

If you look at the table in the "Engines" section you will see multiple refs to the M111 engine wikipage which look for example like this:

 1,799 cc (109.8 cu in) DOHC 16V I4 (M111 E18)
 1,998 cc (121.9 cu in) DOHC 16V I4 (M111 E20)

However, following these links brings you to the start of the M111 page, not the specific engine variant and on top of that - the m111 page does not contain these codes (M111 E18, M111 E20, etc).

So it is not clear what exactly the Exx codes mean. This should be fixed, i.e., either a) the M111 page should explain these codes (preferably, if these are valid codes) OR the W202 Engines table should be fixed to contain valid engine codes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aenchevich (talkcontribs) 12:54, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
