Expanding
[edit]I just saw a clip of this elsewhere on the 'net and thought I'd look up some information, only to be surprised there wasn't anything on it at all.
Some stuff I can't find reliable sources for, but I know is true:
- David Sanborn covering the track on Late Night with David Letterman with Paul Shaffer and band.
- A cover / parody by The Simpsons (mmm, Homer on tenor sax).
Did Booker T and the MGs play on the original recording? The guitar line in particular sounds like the archetypical Steve Cropper.
@Martinevans123: any ideas? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:07, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Atlantic certainly put them together on records e.g. this one. He covered "Green Onions" in 1967 (and there's this creation, of course, lol). Martinevans123 (talk) 16:10, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Frisco Hot Stew
[edit]Well Holey Moley, I do declare, that live version (featuring Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Cornell Dupree, Jerry Jemmott, the scintillating Billy Preston on Hammond B-3 and the magnificent Memphis Horns), is something else. And as it's been "Provided to YouTube by Rhino/Elektra", I'd suggest it's copyright compliant: [1]. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:14, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
