Lonie Anderson

I remember that Lonie Anderson was on a couple of episodes. I forget her characters name, but Anderson's character was making advances on Jack Wagner's character to try and influence him so that Wagner's character would help Anderson's characters daughter win a beauty pagent type competition. Show Decline

The comment "As the seventh and final season began, Matt was killed in a car accident on the way to dinner at Kyle's supper club. The loss of yet another original cast member in such a short period of time upset the show's devoted cult of fans and lead to the program's downward spiral" This isnt correct, the show was already in a downward spiral because of the loss of many characters in season 5 - Kimberly, Jane, Alison, Jake, Sydney etc What happened to the comment which said "the loss of many characters in such a short period of time stunned the show's fans and lead to the show's decline etc?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.184.174.251 (talk) 12:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Melrose as inspiration for other shows

The section that states "the show's popularity led to a rash of similar nighttime serials about sexy, powerful women, such as Models, Inc., Savannah, Pacific Palisades, Central Park West and Sex And The City" almost makes it sound as if Melrose invented the primetime soap opera! Although I can appreciate that the show was probably the most entertaining of all the 90s soaps, we really should accept that Melrose was basically just a younger version of Knots Landing - which also had a variety of "sexy, powerful women". Furthermore, suggesting that Melrose led to Sex & The City is quite ridiculous as SATC isn't even a soap opera and the two series are worlds apart. 79.69.2.88 11:17, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Cast Members

Spin off? Merge same show articles?

Couple of things. Are the new Melrose and new 90210 really spin-offs? I don't think that is accurate. They are a "rebirth", "extention" or "continuations" of the original shows. I wouldn't consider them "spin offs". Maybe that is the "generic" term for it but doesn't seem right. Just curious is all. Also, why not merge both 90210's together and both Melrose's together in one article for each, separating the original and new series within the same article? Don't think it is necessary for separate articles for the same show. Just an idea/thought. Smile... Thank you! 69.129.170.102 (talk) 04:05, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

To reiterate what was said on the other talk page -- The new shows are entirely different productions with different crews, which makes them spin-offs of the previously concluded productions. Cleanup?

Okay, I cleaned up this article, eliminating redundant storyline descriptions and editing a bit for grammar. I also pulled out a few storylines, like Sydney joining a cult and Jane's fashion design woes. Editorially speaking, these were not the storylines or moments that were popular or talked about. (Possible exception: Jane and Sydney killing Richard and the hand.) Moments that burned themselves on the cultural consciousness include the wedding dress cat fight, the wig and scar, the building blowing up, Amanda's cattiness, Allison's wedding day sexual abuse memory, maybe her drinking too, Kimberly stealing Jo's baby, Jo killing Reed.

What in the article warrants a cleanup? No article is perfect, but I don't think there are any huge flaws. If someone is going to put a cleanup I think the least they can do is tell us what they object to in the article so that we can make the changes. The only thing I might suggest is to put some title bars for different eras of the show, so everything doesn't run together. Otherwise it seems alright. --JamesB3 04:42, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

Wow, someone really hit the delete button one too many times. Granted, the descriptions of each season got a little long-winded.. now it just reads like a clinical description of who arrived and who left the show at which point. I've read cereal boxes that are more exciting. Nothing about the golden moments etched into the public's consciousness is here (the bldg explosion, the wig, the cat fight in wedding dress, death in the pool, etc etc etc) Some anal retentive jerk really butchered this article down to nothing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.110.105.27 (talk) 07:19, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

The storyline summaries by season were split out into Seasons of Melrose Place. The remaining "cast and characters" section may seem dry to you, but technically it is presented the way an article should be: from a real-world perspective. Certainly the article could use a description of some storyline highlights, but any opinion as to what are "notable" storylines should be attributed to a source, and no one has gotten around to doing that yet. And by the way, calling someone an "anal retentive jerk" (even if you're not directing it at anyone in particular) is a personal attack, and makes it less likely that other editors will take your opinions on an article seriously.— TAnthony^Talk 16:24, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
