this whole article reads like a publicity bio, and has a lot of POV going on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.105.1.10 (talk) 20:09, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Someone needs to redo it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.46.106.122 (talk) 12:50, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably needs editing, agreed. FYI, she's as good as they say, probably better, but the writeup makes it sound like the wonder is that she can play at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.251.94 (talk) 02:25, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree absolutely with the preceding comment. This year's album is a very classy effort indeed, and if this were submitted to me as a piece of journalism, I'd probably reject it for not being gushy enough! However, it's supposed to be an encyclopaedia entry, and falls short of neutrality. I'll have a go at toning it down. Grubstreet (talk) 14:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MGARDOTWorrisomeHeart.jpg

[edit]

Image:MGARDOTWorrisomeHeart.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Clean up

[edit]

I did some clean up of this article. It needs more. Some of the content I removed might be able to be re-added with inline sources and modified wording. One of the problems I noticed is that the information could be outdated. Peoples health status changes so putting loads of detailed information into an article is problematic because it can quickly grow stale. Should not assume that old information along these lines is current. If used the content about health status needs to carefully worded to make it clear that it is discussing a person at a specific time. Newspapers and magazines are understood to be written to describes current events, and will grow stale. Encyclopedia articles take a broader perspective and if possible need to be written in a manner that will not grow stale when people read them months or years later. Revision

[edit]

I added a Musician's box to the article and two more images. Also I fixed quotes and tried to get sources for everything. I didn't do much writing, because of lack of time. I did though, add more of a wikipedia feel to the article rather then the crud it was. Alahorx —Preceding undated comment added 03:35, 26 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Another source

[edit]

There's an article in today's The Independent (London) that might be a useful additional source to support the article. --86.147.211.32 (talk) 17:36, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Backing band

[edit]

An anonymous user blanked section on the grounds that Gardot is a solo artist but in virtually every review of her performances it is emphasised that she entirely relies on her backing musicians, so the section is relevant. Thruxton (talk) 18:26, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked for a temporary semi-protection, which was granted for one week. We could implement the section again, but I think we should verify all the information.—Totie (talk) 12:27, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Melody Gardot collaboration with Piaget

[edit]

Dear all,

I am working at Piaget.

On Melody Gardot’s Wikipedia page, I would like to mention her collaboration with Piaget, especially for the song “La Vie en Rose” (http://www.melodygardot.com/story2.html). Working with your guidance, I will ensure that my contributions respect Wikipedia’s five pillars. I am contacting some of the biggest contributors of this article for their help.

If you are interested in this project, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be delighted to discuss it with you further.

I encourage you to visit my user page in order to better understand my intention on Wikipedia.

p.s: I had to change my user account from Ly.piaget to Vincent-B2 to respect Wikipedia’s guidelines. You can see the discussion on my talk page : [[1]]. In fact my first post on this page was the 17 january. Because I changed my user account the 25 March, I prefer to let that date visible below for transparency. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vincent-B2 (talkcontribs) 13:42, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Live in Europe

[edit]

Shouldn't the "Live in Europe" CD be mentioned somewhere in the article? BasileusAutokratorPL (talk) 16:30, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is "Gardot" a pseudonym?

[edit]

She is very fluent in French. I heard her interview on a French radio. She sais that she was from a Polish family, and they spoke a little Polish at home, but she is not able to say more than a few swearing words and to order food in a restaurant, in Polish. Is "Gardot" a pseudonyme? Because it sounds very French, it's a French name. In French etymology, it seems to be a variant of Gardet, name given to a guard or a gardian. https://www.filae.com/nom-de-famille/gardot.html Area: https://www.geneanet.org/nom-de-famille/GARDOT%20PYOT — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 12:53, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
