A fact from Melissa Ong appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 10 February 2023 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that "Step Chickens" on TikTok replace their profile pictures with an image (shown) of Melissa Ong, whom they call "Mother Hen"?

My main concern is that the prose is not "tight" enuf. This reads too much like a puff piece with many superfluous "facts" about her and her "cult". I'm sure she's notable (although I find that bewildering...) but the article could use some trimming while the image is waiting to be cleared. KINGofLETTUCE 👑🥬19:53, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Will give it the holy tick once the image clears. Otherwise the article is new and long enough, with an interesting hook that's appropriately referenced. No evidence of copyvio. I would recommend removing the "(shown on the right)" for the benefit of mobile users, but that's about it. Merry Christmas! KINGofLETTUCE 👑🥬12:16, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It seems likely that Ong, an active public figure, will continue to garner coverage in the press, leaving an opening for further coverage that fills the gaps in. For GA status, I'd want to see articles that more thoroughly cover her background in tech and how that influenced her leap into public life. Information about her TikTok activities that don't include Step Chickening would be helpful; you know, just more stuff that's not about the Step Chickens so we can whittle that bit down. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 04:38, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
I don't have a conflict of interest, but the subject reached out to me and asked me to remove the bit about her mining cryptocurrency. I think there's a fairly strong case to be made that the fragment supporting herself by dealing drugs and mining cryptocurrency is probably UNDUE from an ABOUTSELF source (even if somewhat reputably published). theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 03:46, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
