Er.. while this is a very amusing article, it isn't entirely accurate. For instance, no one goes to work, even for 30 minutes, on Melbourne Cup Day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.31.171 (talkcontribs) 14:09, 13 April 2006

No one is exagerated... many people do actually work in Melbourne on Melbourne Cup Day (been there, done that), even though most of them stop working to watch the race, if possible. In any case, the article still looks like a hoax. I'd suggest to redirect it it Melbourne Cup, which I'll do if noone opposes. Schutz 08:29, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go for it. --Richmeister 10:39, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst this article is written in a somewhat flippant style, it describes an important part of Australian culture. If the way in which it is written offends you, then please feel free to improve it. But don't delete other people's hard work. Kidbrother 01:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article is a joke and any possible fact in it is already on the Melbourne Cup page. The article as it currently stands belongs on Uncyclopedia! Reverting back to redirect to Melbourne Cup. --Richmeister 09:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
