Birth and death
[edit]An editor added (or tried to add) birth and death dates to the info box. There is no source re death, this as a serious BLP violation. As to birth date, that is unsourced. I have reverted both IP edits, as possible BLP violations.Flami72 (talk) 20:49, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Flami. @Wgolf: may have more info. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:10, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Portia De Rossi
[edit]Contrary to the hatnote on this article, several sources - albeit not of the highest calibre - claim that the Mel Metcalf who was married to Portia De Rossi was a three-times academy-award nominated sound engineer: [1], [2], [3], [4]. Are they in error? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:06, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- Some sources saying de Rossi's former husband was a documentary filmmaker: [5], [6], [7], [8]. It's just about possible that they're the same person, but none of the sources referencing a documentary film-maker mention his Oscar-nominated sound work and per IMDb they're credited differently in films. This Mel Metcalfe is "Mel Metcalfe" and the documentary film-maker is "Mel M. Metcalfe III". So, I believe they're distinct. Perhaps someone reading this will have read de Rossi's autobiography (referenced in e.g. [9]) and can let us know if that clarifies matters. Mortee (talk) 17:37, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
