Ponerine genus revision (name change)

[edit]

During the revision of: C.A. Schmidt & S.O. Shattuck (2014). The Higher Classification of the Ant Subfamily Ponerinae (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), with a Review of Ponerine Ecology and Behavior. Zootaxa 3817 (1): 001-242, they changed the genus of Pachycondyla analis back to Megaponera analis. I am currently working on a lengthy and comprehensive article about the species and would suggest that the name of the article is changed to its current name: Megaponera analis. --ETF89 (talk) 09:22, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article looks great, but due to naming conventions for monotypic taxa, it should be moved to Megaponera, with M. analis as a redirect, unless you happen to known if any new species of Megaponera are likely to be described soon. Otherwise, we basically have two articles on the same taxon, and it forces readers to needlessly navigate between pages.--Animalparty-- (talk) 23:28, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
