I'll take this. I notice you're not a major contributor to this article nor has edited it in the slightest degree. Before I proceed with the review, could you explain what drove you to pursue this GAN of an article that was created as well as significantly expanded by a seemingly-retired Wikipedian? Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 08:22, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
- Well I believe that this article already meets the criteria of Good Article status. Just that it hasn't been nominated. I have done this a few times before, usually Mega Man articles anyway. If there are issues with the article I'll fix them. GamerPro64 06:30, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey, sorry if I might be procrastinating a little bit on this review. I'll get right into it as soon as I can. In the meantime, I've added a review template outlining which criteria the article has passed on. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 07:12, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- It is reasonably well written.
#:::Delink "video game" and remove "handheld game console"; revise to "Mega Man Xtreme 2 is a game developed and published by Capcom for the Game Boy Color.. You also have the option to note the fact it's an "action-platform game"
- It is a spin-off title in the Mega Man X series and is a follow-up to Mega Man Xtreme, released the previous year. Use "which" as relative pronoun for clarity
- Where? GamerPro64 06:14, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- Reply: "which was released" Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 15:57, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- Done.

#:::in an unknown year 21XX" -> remove as it's redundant with the fact that the game is set at the 22nd century
#::: The DNA souls of robots known as "Reploids" all around the world are being stolen by a pair of villains in order to create an army of undead "Mavericks". could use a copy edit
- reworked. GamerPro64 06:14, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
#:::Mega Man Xtreme 2 is a similar take on the series action and platforming gameplay formula while combining elements from home console versions of the Mega Man X series Revise to, The gameplay is similar to previous Mega Man games, retaining most elements from the home console versions of the series.
#:::Critical reception
for Mega Man Xtreme 2 was mixed preposition should be "to"
#::: Critical reception and its supporting content should be separated into another paragraph
To be continued. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 08:09, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

allaround the world
Let's try merging those sentences about the similarity to the previous games and character-switching feature; try The gameplay is similar to previous Mega Man games, retaining most elements from the home console versions of the series, but adds the ability to switch between characters to use unique abilities.
Defeating the stage's boss will earn that player character its special weapon. Expand to, Each character has a different set of stages and bosses; defeating the stage's boss will earn that character its special weapon.
- Done.
In hindsight, third paragraph looks really thin. Expand by adding the game's announcement in Japan and planned localization in NA (preferably in the opening sentence), as well as all release dates
- "
- Plot
She steals the souls of Reploids to enhance her own power, and that of her loyal partner Gareth. -> She steals the souls of Reploids to enhance her own power as well as that of her loyal partner Gareth.

I don't know which you prefer, "level" or "stage"; either way, you must be consistent with what you prefer
- Stuck with stages. GamerPro64 21:54, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
from first three home console Mega Man X games "from the"
Stages are typically linear and present a number of traps and enemy robots to combat; collecting DNA Souls and items that refill health, ammunition, and extra lives; power-ups that improve the player's maximum health; and armor parts that grant X new abilities. First semicolon is misused; just link clauses with a conjunction, Stages are typically linear and present a number of traps and enemy robots to combat, whereby the player can collect DNA Souls and items that refill health, ammunition, and extra lives; power-ups that improve the player's maximum health; and armor parts that grant X new abilities.
Zero risks losing health more often by getting closer to enemies drop "more often"
X uses his "X-Buster" to shoot enemies from a distance. It can be charged up to inflict more damage to enemies. -> revise to, X uses his long-range "X-Buster", which can be charged up for increased damage.
"his slashes are more damaging" how about "his sword attacks deal more damage"?
is that X and Zero do not both gain a weapon "is that neither X nor Zero gains a weapon"
- Well this sentence is saying both cant get the weapon when they beat the boss. Only one of them gets it. GamerPro64 21:54, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Development and release
Whole paragraph needs reformatting. Just convert last three sentences into second paragraph. Also, keep instances of Mega Man Xtreme 2 to a bare minimum
- Changed. GamerPro64 21:54, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
by subtracting her beret and giving her a uniform a "schoolgirl look" to make her look younger. -> by discarding her beret and giving her a uniform that would exude a youthful "schoolgirl look".

- Like the Game Boy incarnations of the classic Mega Man series and its predecessor, Mega Man Xtreme 2 primarily reuses bosses and elements from first three home console Mega Man X games along with the character of Iris, a fully playable Zero and a few background environments from X4 and a truncated version of the parts system from X6. Borders on original research. Please go no further than what the sources actually say. Besides, sentence is too long

- Reply: Just use the following sentence as the opening in first paragraph and cite the AllGame review as source Like its predecessor, Mega Man Xtreme 2 is an action-platform game that contains the same gameplay as other Mega Man games. Notable changes for the sequel game, however, are the ability to switch between player characters X and Zero and the "DNA Soul" system, none of which is present in previous Mega Man X games.

- Overall: OK, now I'm stumped. It seems that you're not interested in addressing some of my concerns for some reason. Very well. I shall fail this GAN as a matter of course. The article still has some issues on close paraphrasing and verifiability which you're either unable to fix or simply choose not to. Should you renominate the article, though, you might wanna put up a copy edit request at the Guild of Copy Editors beforehand, as there could be grammar issues left.
