Hi, I'll be reviewing the article you nominated. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:45, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]- How do you know when it was recorded? Ig you have a source like the inlay notes or other that should also be stated in the recording and release section, otherwise remove it. Same goes for the studios.
- Synthpop is a subgenre → remove it.
Lead
[edit]- last song to be recorded for Revival → last song recorded for Revival
- what do you mean with "combines 1970s-era dance music, disco, R&B and synthpop"?

Recording and release
[edit]- Not a big fan of "Inquisitr" as they tend to recycle and regurgitate information from other websites. If you could find a replacement great.
- J-14 is unreliable please remove such source.
- Bustle is not really a reliable source.
- The EW source doesn't back up "on October 2, 2015" if you had an Itunes source with that date or another source with that kind of information. The EW source could be useful for the critical reception for instance.
- Do you need three sources to back this up "followed by the album's two singles, "Good for You" and "Same Old Love""? I don't think so, one would do the trick.

Composition
[edit]- "Me & the Rhythm" was written by Selena Gomez, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and production team Mattman & Robin (Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson), who also produced the track. They were also the song's vocal producers, as well as being responsible for programming, drums, percussion, synths and bass, while Michaels provided background vocals" → move this to the section above and use te following sentence: "Me & the Rhythm" was written by Selena Gomez, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and Mattman & Robin (Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson). The latter also produced the track, as well as being responsible for programming, drums, percussion, synths, bass and vocal prodcution. Michaels provided background vocals. Serban Ghenea was in charge of the mixing, while John Hanes was the mixing engineer". If studios are available (please see "Credits and personnel" below) add as well.
- One could argue that "synthpop" is a subgenre, henceforth you should say "influenced by synthpop"
- "compared to Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion album" compared what?
- as well as compared it to → comparing it to
- "Lyrically, "Me & the Rhythm" talks about letting go and losing yourself on the dance floor,[21] while being free within that moment and yourself. " → needs to be paraphrased and sounds redudant, plus the first setence is quote from rolling stone magazine, and songs don't talk... → Lyrically, "Me & the Rhythm" is about "letting go and losing yourself on the dance floor". According to Gomez....
- Fix the citation needed.
- With the last one I didn't mean remove it, I meant to find a source for it. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 10:39, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Critical reception
[edit]- I didn't get into much detail here, but most of the reviews are from the album, you should find reviews from the song itself easily as it was released as a promo single.
Here are some links: [1][2][3]
- Pop Crush is unrelaible, I wouldn't use Buste as well.
- " "another breathy synth-pop adventure, the genre she conquered on album number four, but there's a simplicity and sophistication to the production that sets it apart." Wass also praised the fact that "her casual disinterest is perfectly suited to the icy, quintessentially Scandinavian arrangement." → use your own words along with parts of the quote.
- Can you show me if Music Times is a reliable source?
- "Gomez's signature airy vocals are on full blast backed by an upbeat tempo perfect for strutting out on the dance floor in a pair of platform heels." → use your own words

Credits and personnel
[edit]- Please use
{{spaced ndash}}
. - Places where the song was recorded, mixed...anything in this vein?
- This also needs to be in a text in a different section. I would create a new paragraph in the "Recording and release" section.

Charts
[edit]- Fine.
References
[edit]- Avoid SHOUTING in references
- Metro Lyrics and pop crush are unreliable sources please remove them and replace them with more reliable ones if possible.
- Be consistent if you are using publisher for a source use for every single one of them, otherwise use only work it is fine as well.
Not done metro lyrics is still present.

Overall GA review
[edit]- Don't address any comments until I finish the review. Thank you MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:53, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Commercial performance section needs to be added a small paragraph.
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: Please mark the conclusion of the review with a ping on here and putting the article on hold. I wont address any concerns until you do. Tysm.--Beachey23 (talk) 08:45, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry I have been a bit busy, try to rap it up today.
- @Beachey23: review is concluded. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:36, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: I addressed all your concerns except replacing Inquisitr. I have never seen any other people claim it is not reputable and it is used in lots of articles. The information sourced by them is also quite objective so not much of a problem.--Beachey23 (talk) 04:43, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- The review is very confusing. Do you want any more changes made or the article is good to go?--Beachey23 (talk) 13:40, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

- @Beachey23: It's not confusing it's straight to the point. I still need to revise most of what you have done. If you have any doubts please let me know. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:46, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- @MaroSoulTruthFan: Fail this, lol. I don't have that much time to put into this article.--Beachey23 (talk) 07:59, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Think about what you asking me, I can wait a week. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:43, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: I have made the changes. But I could not source that statement because the song has no page on musicnotes.com. (You can check) and AXS is a ticket merchant. They aren't considered reliable for musical criticism. They are not used in good articles. Rest is done.--Beachey23 (talk) 17:14, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Beachey23: only one last thing, didn't she performed this on tour? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:27, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: Done.--Beachey23 (talk) 17:42, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
