horsepower/co2

The Koenigsegg Agera R has a higher horsepower/co2 ratio than a MP4-12C, can't find any official specs for P1. The Koenigsegg has more horsepower/co2 by quite a large margin, when assuming 737/279 User_talk: 85.228.65.134 17 Feb 2014

To be fair, McLaren made the claim in 2009. Newer models are general expected to surpass older models. We should add that it was true in 2009.

Koenigseggs current car by 2009 had a slightly larger horsepower/co2 than the McLaren, 806/368=2.19, which they had already in 2006.
Compared to McLarens 600/279=2.15 in 2011 (or 2009, in which their claim was made).


Stroke, compression, etc

How does a Wiki article on an engine not contain numbers for stroke, compression etc.? I just calculated 70 mm for stroke. Can sb. confirm?

We can only add numbers that we have reliable references to or can figure out with simple calculations. Using a bore of 93 mm from the article and your stroke of 70 mm then we get a capacity of 3804 cc, which is higher than the stated capacity of 3799 cc. My calculation says the stroke should be 69.9 mm (probably the same calculation you used but with an extra digit) to give a capacity of 3798.6 cc, which rounds to 3799 cc. Which shows why we have to be careful about inserting our own figures. Luckily I found a reference on McLaren's own website at http://cars.mclaren.com/650s-spider-specification that says the bore is 93 mm and the stroke is 69.9 mm, so we can be confident that the 93 mm was not rounded off. Feel free to update the article for a stroke of 69.9 mm.
Compression is trickier because it is probably different for each application of the engine. If you can find suitable references then feel free to add the figures to the article.  Stepho  talk  03:04, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
