Questions

[edit]

Does anyone know the internal model number? Also, was modification to the rear of the engine a new fan (as I read one place), a diffuser, or a new reverser? And was it the -14 or -15 that had the variable-incidence front fan that doubled as a reverser? Maury 22:51, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Serial number?

[edit]

If someone has a reference book, would you please double check the serial number of the first aircraft? The article lists it as 72-1875, whereas the display placard for the aircraft at the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum at Edwards has it as 70-1875. I've got 2 books that list "72-1875" (Norton's C-17 book and Donald's Complete Encyclopedia of World Aircraft). -Fnlayson (talk) 03:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I expect the confusion is because the aircraft was marked 01875, I understand it was when they started to computerise the serial numbers with a standard number of digits and it was listed as "72-01875". MilborneOne (talk) 20:36, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

YC-14 text

[edit]

I noticed that this article and the Boeing YC-14 article share a lot of the same text... anyone interested in trying to specialize some of that text? -SidewinderX (talk) 20:25, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's not good, but not a big problem either. I plan to do partially rewrite and expand this article. This article and Advanced Medium STOL Transport have been on my To Do list for a while. I'd better do this by end of month or I'll keep putting it off. Any help is appreciated as always. -Fnlayson (talk) 22:02, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I tried shortening a paragraph on the YC-14, but just removed it as unneeded. A description of the YC-14 would be OK if kept brief... -Fnlayson (talk) 20:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
