Notability

[edit]

@Prince of Erebor, @Gowthamaprabu: I think the article does not fulfill any notability criteria, such as WP:NFILM and WP:GNG, as I could not find multiple reviews on the web while doing WP:BEFORE. NFILM clearly states that multiple reviews are needed. With only one short review from TOI, I don't think it meets notability. Please share any reviews if you can find them in regional languages, or I will have to nominate this article for deletion. GrabUp - Talk 13:42, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GrabUp! Having multiple reviews is just one of many criteria for a film article's notability. As WP:NFO states, film articles that do not meet GNG can explore five other criteria that may also contribute to notability, rather than requiring these criteria as boxes that need to be checked off in addition to GNG. I believe the sources currently in the article are sufficient to meet GNG already. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 14:04, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Prince of Erebor: Hey, thanks for your reply. So, which multiple sources do you think provide significant coverage to meet the article GNG? Please share here. GrabUp - Talk 14:09, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
GrabUp, as I mentioned, I believe the sources in the article are already sufficient, so I guess the current 14 sources in the article? Or could you please enlighten me why you find the current sources inadequate? I noticed you mentioned in your first comment that you think the article does not qualify for GNG. May I ask what issues you see with the sources? —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 14:22, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, Cinemaexpress and other sources provide brief announcements with not much significant coverage, including statements from connected individuals as well. Anyway, as I expected, there might be reviews in regional languages, which is why I started this discussion. Thanks to Gowthamaprabu for finding and adding them. GrabUp - Talk 14:29, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gowthamaprabu just added another review while we were speaking, perhaps you may take a look at it as well to see if it also satisfies NFO. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 14:26, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I just added one, from the regional language. Hope that would suffice Gowthamaprabu (talk) 14:29, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey GrabUp! Hmmmm, while I agree with you that some of the sources are indeed pre-release publicity, such as the coverage of teasers and release dates, the rest looks good to me. Nevertheless, I believe your concern has been addressed with the addition of the review. Thanks for pulling up a thoughtful discussion with me first here on the talk page, and thanks to Gowthamaprabu for your excellent effort in crafting the article as well. Happy new year to both of you! —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 14:40, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your wishes and the appreciation. Happy New year @Prince of Erebor and @GrabUp.!! Gowthamaprabu (talk) 15:02, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
