Cleanup/expansion
[edit]I'm starting the cleanup and expansion of this article --Mikecraig (talk) 06:05, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]I just added {{notability|biographies}} to the article. The relevant notability guidelines appear to be WP:BASIC and WP:ENTERTAINER. I don't see how this local radio DJ and children's TV presenter is notable. (His two children's books also do not appear to be notable, and would not make their author notable even if they were.) At the moment, the article contains only one reference which is an audio clip and a primary source. HairyWombat 05:24, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- I can only find one role for him on imdb as well. It might make sense to send this to Articles for Deletion. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 18:42, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
I added his minor film appearance to the article. I agree the article should be taken to AfD. HairyWombat 20:01, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- I've copied this page and am currently working on it in my user space. Give me a month please to see if I can get it in order. Sgerbic (talk) 04:25, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- I can vouch for Maynard's notability in Australia. He was a well-known live performer in the late 1980s and early 1990s, touring as "Maynard's Madd Club". At the time, he was famous as the national breakfast radio host on Triple J (see mention in that article). He's been less notable since Triple J underwent major changes in the early 1990s, and is best remembered by people now in their 40s for his "daggy" themes. Definitely notable enough for a Wikipedia article. I don't want to see this deleted. --Tale (talk) 01:35, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
Cleanup/expansion
[edit]I have taken a User copy of this article, which I will try to clean up and expand, especially focussing on providing references. I note that the article used to have a lot more content, much of which was removed in 2012 with the reason that it was unreferenced. If any editor has material which you think would be helpful, or has feelings about what is / is not appropriate to put back if it can be referenced, then please comment here so we can discuss it. --Gronk Oz (talk) 07:20, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Done The new page is up now; I hope it meets with your approval. If there are questions or comments please let me know. --Gronk Oz (talk) 07:47, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
Do not use Maynard's legal name, at his request
[edit]Maynard has requested that his legal name should not be revealed in Wikipedia. All editors are asked to respect his wishes, in line with WP:BLPPRIVACY. --Gronk Oz (talk) 17:42, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
