I am planning to expand on this article and add a section that goes into more detail about her scientific contributions. Here is a rough outline of what I plan to add:
The role of enzymes in DNA and RNA synthesis - how her research helped decipher the genetic code
Briefly mention her research on chromatin structure, genetic recombination of viruses, and LINE sequences
Her involvement with science policy - served as co-chair of Gordon Conference, raised concerns about recombinant DNA technology, helped organize the Asilomar conference
Her role in creating science education programs for students
Her advocacy for women in science
Additional papers and books she has written
I may also reorganize the article with one section about her life and the other about scientific contributions.
Let me know if there's any suggestions!
