Untitled

[edit]

Shulman was asked to write the TV sequel "Whatever Happened to Dobie Gillis?", but his draft screenplay was rejected because he killed Dobie! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.107.255.215 (talkcontribs) . (Talk)

Humor Column

[edit]

Shulman's humor column that ran in college newspapers was actually an advertising gimmick for a cigarette manufacturer. At some point in every column he broke off to light up and enjoy a smoke. Always the same brand, and at least in the Columbia 'Spectator' it was captioned as advertising. Tham153 (talk) 18:31, 4 February 2014 (UTC) 18:30, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

"Light's Diamond Jubilee [...] was in reality little more than a public relations piece for the electric industry ..."
I haven't seen the movie, but this statement strikes me as a rather subjective -- and even argumentative -- analysis, not an encyclopedic statement of fact. I think it needs rewritten to conform to NPV guidelines. CurToast 18:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

other works

[edit]

Somebody should mention his first works -- Barefoot Boy With Cheek, Feather Merchants, and ??? These were written probably right after the war and, to my mind, are far better than the commercially successful later ones (Sleep Til Noon and Dobie Gillis).Papagec 16:19, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The third book is Zebra Derby.Papagec 18:29, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
