[edit]- Raja Ravi Varma was born in kilimanoor and not mavelikara...His spouse was from mavelikara.activevoid 19:07, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- removed the line and also from famous personalitiesactivevoid 19:10, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- should 'nt the spelling be Mavelikara (one k, although pronounced as kk),activevoid 19:13, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Census India 2001 called it Mavelikkara. Mavelikkara returns 33,500 results. Mavelikara returns 29,900 results. Mavelikara redirects here. So, should be okay. - Ganeshk (talk) 19:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Election Commission/Parliament records show it as Mavelikara. I doubt if any traffic/establishment sign boards ever use the double K. Railways use the single K. --Anoopramanujam 06:59, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Anoopramanujam in the way Mavelikara has been written. None of the traffic sign boards, buses or even while booking tickets for train show as Mavelikkara. It only shows as Mavlikara ( with one K ) - hence I have changed the same here. Even in the Election Card,Ration Card etc (such ID proofs ) it shows only Mavelikara. --Danrohit (talk) 08:57, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- The coordinates in the geography section is off its actual location by atleast 20kms the coordinates 9.267° N 76.55° E is more near to the actual location (as in the locator map) and checked in google maps...the change has been done. activevoid 08:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- The coordinates at Mitchel Jn. are 9.2506°N and 76.5401°E. I have myself measured it using my GPS device (in WGS84 coordinates).--Anoopramanujam 06:59, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think the idea coordinates here is to guide the user to the city and i do not think wikipedia would be made a source for accurate Lat long....Any way an accurate meaurement is always welcome.activevoid 13:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Mavelikara is a town. Changed city to town --Anoopramanujam 06:59, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Some of the links in here are just ads. And all external links need to be moved to that section. I would like to clean up. Anoopramanujam (talk) 09:49, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
POV Tag
[edit]I'm doing NPOV tag cleanup. Whenever an NPOV tag is placed, it is necessary to also post a message in the discussion section stating clearly why it is thought the article does not comply with POV guidelines, and suggestions for how to improve it. This permits discussion and consensus among editors. This is a drive-by tag, which is discouraged in WP, and it shall be removed. Future tags should have discussion posted as to why the tage was placed, and how the topic might be improved. Better yet, edit the topic yourself with the improvements. Churches in Mavelikara
[edit]This article is on Mavelikara and not on the churches in Mavelikara. Though most of the details given are true, I am deleting all unsuitable materials from this article. Including the history of these churches make them cumbersome. If you are interested in giving all these details, please open separate articles. Hope all of you will agree.Neduvelilmathew (talk) 17:39, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Main Places
[edit]Where the main places are listed, for cherukunnam, I see there is most likely an advertisement for a school being placed. I find this as unsuitable for this article. The old potion is provided below. I am deleting this part.
- Cherukunnam - This is the place where you have one of the best CBSE schools around Mavelikkara. The schools name is, "Sree Narayana Central School". The School follows CBSE Syllabus and has Classes from L.K.G to XII. Cherukunnam is a beautiful village, 5 kilometers away from Mavelikara Town(in Mavelikara-Kattanam Bus Route). It was in 1987 that the Sree Narayana Samskarika Samithy had established this School as a modest nursery School with a vision to spread the light of knowledge as propounded by Sree Narayana Guru. "Get Enlightened through Eeducation" is the motto of the School. Now it has more than 1200 students.
