Article issues
[edit]I've removed content from the article again, for more reasons than an edit summary could explain. For one, the content is extremely WP:UNDUE; given the single reliable source showing any notability, that level of detail is extremely excessive. Content such as "He takes voice lessons from the same person who taught Lady Gaga and Usher" was unsourced and things like "His family has a recording studio in their house. He is managed by his father, who has a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)" was trivial, at best. Without reliable sources showing that the information is relevant or at least verifying the content, it doesn't belong in the article and was removed per WP:BURDEN. Honestly, given the single source that shows any notability, I'm not even sure this article belongs on Wikipedia. Unless additional reliable sources can be found, the article is likely to be nominated for deletion at some point. - SudoGhost 22:27, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- please stop deleting my edits, it needs the list of songs, this is my article that i made from scratch and i know MattyB IRL (in fact I'm his publicist) so I am a reliable source. someday everyone will know MattyB and adore him like I do, and then you will feel dumb for thinking his article was unwarranted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.64.190.21 (talk) 18:06, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
- First of all, this is not your article and you are most certainly not a reliable source, and the fact that you are his publicist means that you have a conflict of interest regarding the article, and really shouldn't be editing the article. No article on an artist should have a list of songs, just because they exist, especially without any reliable sources showing that they are worth mentioning. It might be appropriate to list 1-4 songs that reliable sources have shown to be worth mentioning (and in fact the article already does this), but that's as detailed as the article needs to be. To list every song an artist has done is inappropriate on a Wikipedia article, that's why it is being removed from the article. - SudoGhost 23:32, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
- no it definitely IS my article because i wrote it myself i said so right at the beginning, and if i'm not a reliable source, who is??? you tell me. if Matt has a ton of twitter followers and millions of YouTube fans he IS notable, more notable than you for sure, so youre probably just jealous of him. he's a talented young man and you should show some respect. also i think we need to add a section about his mother, who appears in many of his videos. if you delete this article i'll just remake it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.130.43.201 (talk) 04:40, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm afraid you're incorrect; this article is not yours, and you are not a reliable source. If the reasons for that are unclear, WP:OWN and WP:OR will clear up why. You'll also find that ad hominem attacks against others do not work well on Wikipedia, if anything they just weaken how your comments are viewed by others since that's usually a tactic reserved by those with nothing of value to say. I don't know if "if you delete this article i'll just remake it" is supposed to be some sort of threat, but whatever you meant by that you'll find that such a claim has no merit; disruptive editors will find themselves blocked from editing, and continued disruption on an article would result in the article being semi-protected to prevent disruption. There's also the issue that you can claim to be whomever you please, it means absolutely nothing on Wikipedia; what you can prove with reliable sources is infinitely more important than who you claim to be, and edits like this make your claim of being the individual's publicist very doubtful, as is your ad hominem reaction. - SudoGhost 04:56, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

United States needs to be added to the Born and Home Town sections. Georgia is also a country.

Resides on Duluth or Atlanta?
[edit]I want to discuss this issue. I think he resides in Duluth but there is just one reliable source that says that, while there are many sources that say that he resides in Atlanta (most are not reliable sources but they should be taken into account). We have: Billboard news, his official FB account, IMDB, his Twitter account says that he is from Atlanta, his official website "About" page, and other page (unreliable source). I guess they add Atlanta as his residence because they are not sure where he really lives, just that is near Atlanta but there is no much info about that he resides in Duluth so I don't think it would be correct to put Duluth as his residence. Again, excuse my English. Have a nice day. 200.12.39.93 (talk) 01:05, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- It is very common for someone in metro Atlanta to say that they are "from Atlanta", when they do not in fact live there; what they mean is that they live in the Atlanta metropolitan area. This usage is fine for informal language, but should not carry over to an encyclopedia; the article should either clarify that it is the Atlanta metropolitan area, not the City of Atlanta, or should be concise (as an encyclopedia should), and use the actual location of Duluth, Georgia. Either way, "Atlanta" by itself is fine for informal language, but inappropriate for an encyclopedia article. - SudoGhost 13:56, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
thank god we can finally clear up where a child with a youtube channel resides. this is surely what Wikipedia will be known for in the coming ages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.225.94.84 (talk) 18:25, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- Considering you vandalized the page as the 50.130 IP address it's kind of hard to take you seriously, especially because edits like this don't exactly improve the article. - SudoGhost 04:53, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Please edit last sentence of the Life and career section, currently reads: "his record company is Sony Music" Perhaps change to "He is currently signed with Sony Music." or something of the like. 97.102.182.248 (talk) 20:43, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Done - except we avoid "currently" as the reader does not know when it was written, so I have dated it December 2015 - Arjayay (talk) 11:21, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
