This is quite slim in comparison to the articles in other major languages — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.178.223.2 (talk) 17:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lutheran?

[edit]

The article doesn't let clear if he ever joined the Lutheran Church? Is this proved? The fact that he showed sympathy thowards Lutheranism at the end of his life doesn't prove it definetely.82.154.83.224 (talk) 13:47, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, there doesnt seem to be a conclusive record of his beliefs, though his work for Protestant patrons is suggestive. What's to the point for the project bannering of this talkpage is that the Lutheran Church (or at least the ELCA, from my own knowledge) has adopted him into its calendar of saints. Sparafucil (talk) 21:47, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't really recorded evidence if he ever became officially a Lutheran. At least, nominally, he was a Roman Catholic for most of his life. Luchas Cranach, for example, was a staunch Lutheran.85.243.68.192 (talk) 16:26, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
