[edit]The man's name is Matthaeus or Matthew Stach. Matthias is an entirely different name. St. Matthew was the tax collector called by Jesus. St. Matthias was the one chosen to replace Judas Iscariot after his death. Matthaeus Stach was named after St. Matthew. That's the German form of his name. Matthias only has the one form.
