Discussion about content deletion
[edit]Hello 2a02:587:e908:400:b8dd:37a3:1de:698e (talk · contribs) let's discuss about your deletion here. All of the content you deleted are well-sourced and well-referenced, could you please inform me what is your explanation? I think the sources are quite verifiable and the content are written in a neutral tone. Thank you! SunDawn (talk) 06:42, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello,
None of these allegations are proven and this person has never been charged in a court of law. I think it is completely unnecessary to include this information and it is detrimental to the person's wellbeing. Pitchfork and Spin are not credible sources. Children work for these magazines and post whatever clickbait is available. I believe SunDawn is purposely bullying Matt Mondanile on this site.
- Hello 2a02:587:e908:400:b8dd:37a3:1de:698e (talk · contribs)! First of all, please engage discussions in good faith. Nobody wanted to bully anyone. Please do not cast WP:ASPERSIONS on other people.
- The fact where he is not charged in the court of law is not relevant, as the article correctly stated that these are "allegations". The allegation of misconduct is reported on multiple news outlets, such as in [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9], all stating about the alleged sexual harassment. Some of the articles even went in depth to describe the alleged harassment. All of the sites are verifiable WP:V, and also independent from one another. If you wanted to discount Pitchfork and Spin, firstly you must establish that they are not credible, but even if you discount those two there are still more sources that reports the story. Do you have facts that these allegations are false? SunDawn (talk) 07:16, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
he was never accused of assault but rather misconduct [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a02:587:e908:400:b8dd:37a3:1de:698e (talk) 07:30, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed. Only The Guardian called it as "assault" but the rest of the sources are "harassment" or "misconduct". SunDawn (talk) 07:37, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
"Mondanile was accused of shoving at least two women into confined spaces while forcibly kissing and groping them, and of molesting at least four women in whose apartments he stayed while on tour." the world molestation has not come up anywhere in any of the articles, as well as shoving into confined spaces and groping... when the women asked him to stop, he stopped. https://pitchfork.com/news/matt-mondanile-accused-of-sexual-misconduct-by-multiple-women/
therefore I will be removing this sentence which is vague, exaggerated and not factual
Many of these women were fans of Mondanile whose experiences occurred after they attended a Real Estate or Ducktails performance, and many were 5-10 years his junior. A classmate at Hampshire College also alleged that Mondanile molested her in her sleep in a dorm room in 2005.
The word molested is no where in this article https://pitchfork.com/news/matt-mondanile-accused-of-sexual-misconduct-by-multiple-women/
therefore I will be removing this sentence.
As a result of the allegations, Ducktails tour dates in Asia and the U.S. were cancelled by the promoters[2] and Ducktails was dropped from Domino Recording Company.Cite error: The <ref>
tag has too many names (see the help page).

BLP + DUE
[edit]Those wanting to tell the world about misconduct should use social media because that is not the purpose of Wikipedia. Of course the article will describe the problems but they will not dominate the article because regardless of internet commentary, the subject is notable for their role as a performer. The relevant policies are WP:BLP and WP:DUE.
In this 06:49, 14 May 2021 permalink, over half of the lead and over 40% of the article body are devoted to misconduct claims. This is for a case where (as far as I can see) there has been no charge let alone legal verdict. Please work to make the material suitable for a long-term article complying with BLP and DUE. Media reports make a fuss—that's how they earn a living but an article here needs to be more measured. Unless there are strong reasons to the contrary, the issue deserves no more than, say, 10% of the lead and 25% of the body. Reverts that restore all the negativity without justification on this talk would be contrary to policy. Johnuniq (talk) 07:14, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
