Performance Order #.

[edit]

Please do not remove this. I integrated this into the charts very successfully last season. (This applies to all of the Top 12 contenders.) It is factual information, in that it is an indisputable order in which the contestant performed on that particular night. And it is relevant to anyone doing a review or synopsis of the show who wants to analyze statistics and such. (Notice how all 3 who performed last on their respective nights made the Top 12.) It is an especially good record one they all perform on the same night. Thank you.--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 16:04, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

African American?

[edit]

I just noticed that there is an African American tag/category to this page. I'd always wondered about his background, but does anyone have any sources to substantiate the tag/category? --Criticalthinker (talk) 10:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Matt mentioned at his Kalamazoo appearance that his maternal (IIRC) grandfather was African-American and a blues musician, so that Matt had "a little bit of blues" in him. Of course, one who heard that can't include that in the article because it would be considered original research, unless that information is found in another source. Then there's the whole question of just how much African-American lineage makes someone African-American. As far as I know, Matt's mother would be considered half African-American, which would make Matt at least a quarter, and that's not knowing whether there are any black ancestors on the paternal side. Since it is a bit ambiguous, it probably is better to leave it out until an authoritative source on the question is found. Spicy (talk) 14:43, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that; I was curious, because I'd always assumed he was part African-American after seeing his mom and then the hair and features started to make more sense. The tag would certainly be appropriate if the information was published, somewhere. --Criticalthinker (talk) 03:59, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just to note, Spicy, but it appears that the second reference makes reference to all of this. If someone thinks its relevant they can add it. I think it's relevant, as most celebrity pages include a small note as to their heritage/ethnicity/acestary. --Criticalthinker (talk) 03:11, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
