New picture?

[edit]

I understand the emotional content of the picture, and don't wish to take a side here. However, while there is certainly nothing policy/guideline absolutely horribly wrong, I think the picture is a bit graphic...close up of dead bodies. I don't wish to diminish the impact, and I realize respect for the dead is not necessaily a policy concern, but it just seems there may be equally compelling pictures available that don't involve very close pictures of dead bodies. Regardless of the lack of respect for the dead, and the unnecesarily gruesome nature of the picture, I don't think the shot adequately shows the topic in discussion...why not a picture of the protests themselves?204.65.34.156 (talk) 14:23, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you that the image is too gruesome. It should be replaced with another one if available.--Rafy talk 11:07, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that is horrid. 24.225.23.147 (talk) 21:52, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of Victims

[edit]

I am trying to locate a comprehensive list of the 27 victims but am unable to find one. Any leads? Also should such a list be included in this article? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.103.32.218 (talk) 14:00, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Current Picture

[edit]

I believe the current picture is inappropriate for the article. It depicts a Muslim woman supposedly expressing grief over the massacre. The protesters were predominately Christian, and the only deaths conclusively established were of Christians. It doesn't seem relevant to lead with a picture of a Muslim woman, especially when it isn't immediately clear from the picture (without reading the caption) that there is any relevance to the events of the article. Maspero Massacre

[edit]

Most major media outlets refer to it as the Maspero Massacre.. Why is it so tamely named "Maspero demonstrations" ?

24-27 civilians were massacred, I think the article title should reflect that fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.115.233.210 (talk) 04:58, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Catholic portal?

[edit]

Why is this part of the Persecutions of the Catholic Church series? Copts are Orthodox. Christendom-official (talk) 01:12, 31 August 2019 (UTC) christendom-official[reply]
