Question about date format

[edit]

Why does this article contain the {{Use dmy dates|date=September 2018}} template? Wikipedia's Manual of Style says, "Articles on topics with strong ties to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the date format most commonly used in that nation. For the United States this is (for example) July 4, 1976; for most other English-speaking countries it is 4 July 1976." (Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers#Strong national ties to a topic) What I see in the article indicates that Mary LaRoche was full American, which would indicate use of month-day-year format for dates. Does some exception apply here? Eddie Blick (talk) 19:27, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Changed article date format to mdy as you suggested. Gunbirddriver (talk) 06:42, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
