COI Edit request

[edit]

My name is Anna and I work for Columbia University. I am requesting the removal of the third paragraph of the lead section of this article, beginning with "As the provost...". This statement is substantiated by an unreliable and biased source. None of the neutral coverage of the strike suggests that Provost Boyce personally "came under criticism" or initiated the compensation changes that led to the strike. The article on the strike provides all the necessary detail relating to the strike and its resolution. Thank you. AS at Columbia (talk) 18:11, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done I agree the source used is non-neutral due to its direct involvement in the issue and therefore placed undue weight on a certain side of the argument. Would be happy to consider a rewording with appropriate sourcing and further request to implement it, but for now I agree it has no place in the lede. PK650 (talk) 03:19, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
PK650 Thank you for your help with this. I appreciate your attention here and your willingness to help in the future, if necessary. The resolution of the strike earlier this year was a welcome return to academic activity; I will continue to monitor the relevant Wikipedia pages to ensure accuracy and neutrality. Thank you again. Anna Spinner works for the Provost: I suggest that her edits are biased. Please restore the original paragraph. 128.59.179.202 (talk) 21:15, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
