Timeline Iron Man 3

[edit]

I noticed that at the IM3 section it states that the film takes place during Christmas 2013. However, at the Timeline section it states that the film takes place during Christmas six months after Avengers. I could be wrong, but it seems as though this is contradictory. SassyCollins (talk) 12:16, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos to Facu-el Millo. Thanks! SassyCollins (talk) 14:59, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Image discussion

[edit]

A centralized discussion regarding the images for this, the Phase One, and Phase Three articles, can be found at Talk:List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films#Phase One, Two, and Three article images. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:46, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GA nom

[edit]

@Adamstom.97 I think you had a look over Phase One before I nominated it for GA, so I was wondering if you wanted to look over this article as well before I nominate it? -- ZooBlazer 02:09, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have gone over the article, made a few changes and done some c/e. I am happy for the GA nom to go ahead. - adamstom97 (talk) 12:30, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Main Article not relevant

[edit]

Why is the article about Secret Wars?!?! 2601:189:8100:60B0:BCFB:32C:1217:9BBA (talk) 21:02, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That was egregious vandalism, which has now been reverted. Trailblazer101 (talk) 06:29, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

@ZooBlazer:

  • EARWIG shows 27.0% - violations unlikely.
  • According to link-dispenser,
    • There are 29 redirect links; change them where necessary.
    • 5 potentially spam links.
    • 5 refs need archive links.
  • In the references,
    • refs 94, 104 and 123 are unreliable (tweets).
    • ref 46 is unreliable.
    • Is ref 103 reliable?
  • Use the {{See also}} template for the "Short films" section hatnote.
  • Unnecessary external link.

Vestrian24Bio 11:02, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing the review!. I've addressed everything I could. Some redirects are also dead links such as MTV ones. The Tweets in this case should be fine as they come from people directly involved with the films (2 directors and one actor). -- ZooBlazer 18:56, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vestrian24Bio Tagging to make sure you see my response. -- ZooBlazer 17:00, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Got the ping, will respond. Vestrian24Bio 05:22, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've readded the external link as I see no issue with its inclusion since it is a preview featurette for the Phase released by Marvel. As to the tweet sources, yes they can be used, but it is possible we can still swap them out. @ZooBlazer: as I've been less active and might not get to doing this myself, perhaps this can be accomplished? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:56, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

None of the other 5 phases have an external link section, so is it needed here?
This is a unique situation where we have an external link that is relevant for this article but not for the others. I don't think it is doing any harm. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:03, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I also think this is a worthwhile and useful exception for this article. Trailblazer101 (talk) 16:16, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just because the others don't include any doesn't mean that this viable one should then be excluded to match those other articles. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:18, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Favre1fan93 I'll see what I can find. -- ZooBlazer 22:44, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
All Tweets swapped out. -- ZooBlazer 22:58, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer: I've been a little busy with some off-wiki stuffs but, I am hoping to finish this review by this Sunday, hope you won't mind. Vestrian24Bio 02:31, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vestrian24Bio No rush. -- ZooBlazer 04:49, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vestrian24Bio Just pinging you to check in and see if you have an update on when you think you'll have time for the review? -- ZooBlazer 16:56, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer will start tomorrow... Vestrian24Bio 06:32, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • In the films table - Screenwriter(s) column, shouldn't it be
  • In Iron Man 3's, Ruffalo running into Downey bit, wouldn't it be suitable to link the specific Academy Awards instead of the main article.
    • Done
  • Could link Aether in the "Dark World" synopsis.
    • Done
  • Ref 60 (Winter Soldier release) is formatted incorrectly.
    • Fixed
  • Jasper Sitwell also mentioned Moon Knight along with Stephen Strange; not sure if that was intentional or should be mentioned here. There's also a Screen Rant source about it.
    • Those characters aren't notable for this Phase
  • "The revelation that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been infiltrated by Hydra informed the final six episodes of the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." - I don't understand what this supposed to mean, maybe I'm missing something...
    • Not sure how to better explain this. Hydra and Shield are 2 different groups in the MCU. Over the years Hydra was thought to be defeated, but indivudals of Hydra became members of Shield in secret, rising up the ranks, until it was revealed in The Winter Soldier/used in Agents of Shield
  • Could display the disambiguation term in the GotG hatnote.
    • Not sure it's necessary
  • Are 3 refs necessary for the GotG synopsis.
    • Removed one
  • Should add a source for " July to October 2013" (GotG filming).
    • There was one, just in the next sentence. Combined the start and finish refs now though.
  • Could add images of Russos and Gunn in the films section.
    • Done
  • Ref for "Loki's scepter from The Avengers is confirmed to be another of the Infinity Stones in the film, specifically the Mind Stone".
    • There is one that was just at the end of the next sentence since the source covered multiple things, but added an additional source as well.
  • Why Agent Carter and All Hail the King aren't linked in the "Timeline" section.
    • Linked
  • Why none is linked on the timeline graphic.
    • I assume due to DUPLINKs
  • What's the order for characters in the characters table.
    • Alphabetical by character/character last name
  • In the characters table,
    • Ref 55 would suit Stan in Winter Soldier rather than ref 56.
      Done
    • Peggy Carter wasn't a One-Shot character in Ant-Man.
      She's not listed as one. The One shot note for the character is for the Phase since the Agent Carter film isn't' in the table.
  • Could add Brian Tyler's image to the music section and mention he also composed the fanfare in the caption.
    • No space with the table sizes
  • Link Civil War in the home media section.
    • Would be a DUPLINK
  • Add refs for Composer(s) in the soundtracks table.
    • Done
  • What's the need for Feature Film Study pdfs in BO tables, Box Office Mojo and The Numbers are enough refs.

Vestrian24Bio 15:22, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Vestrian24Bio resposnded to everything above. -- ZooBlazer 19:33, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I got the part of "S.H.I.E.L.D. has been infiltrated by Hydra", but I didn't get the "informed the final six episodes of the first season" part.
  • The disambiguation term is hidden in GotG hatnote, but is visible in Ant-Man hatnote, both should have the same formatting to be consistent.
  • Brian Tyler is linked twice in the soundtrack table.
  • Could add a hatnote link to List of accolades received by Marvel Cinematic Universe films in the accolades section.
Vestrian24Bio 09:06, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vestrian24Bio I've addressed everything. -- ZooBlazer 17:35, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Feature Film study pdfs in BO tables, I've reverted that as they're included same reason as in the infobox on films articles, seem more reliable for this, and sometimes different e.g. for TWS where 177 unsourced without it. I'm not those two pinged users but shouldn't matter. Indagate (talk) 19:59, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Adding on about the writing credits mentioned above, the specific formatting used is per MOS:FILM#Screenwriters and writing teams. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:31, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Shouldn't there be note above the characters table, stating the listing order.
    • Added one
  • Is the {{TOC limit}} needed, because as the documentation says, it does not work with the Vector 2022 skin.
  • Why film table width is set to 99%, it could be 100%. Same for other similar tables as well.
    • Not sure. Seems to be a common thing in other articles as well
      • This was something from years when the MCU was just starting out back in like 2012 or so if I recall. I don't know the reasoning, but there has never been any harm in the table being at 99%. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:27, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Alt text for the infobox image.
    • Added
  • Why sources are defined in some tables, while the page uses LDR; transcluded refs can be defined in that pages as well, given all of them uses LDR.
    • I think it still breaks some things. I've done it in the past for another article and was reverted because of that.
  • No need for the dab on Brain Tyler's first link on table, page has been renamed now.
    • Removed
  • Short films, Characters, Soundtracks, Compilation albums, Home media, Box office and Comics tables don't have a {{sronly}} caption.
    • Added
  • Isn't linking Hollywood Records and Marvel Music again on the second table DUPELINK.
    • De-linked
  • Why CinemaScore and PostTrak columns aren't sortable in the "Critical and public response" table.
    I made them sortable for now. -- ZooBlazer 17:23, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Align Russos image to the right and Gunn's image to the left.
    • Done
  • Format the last part as following,
== References ==
=== Notes ===
{{notelist}}
=== Citations ===
{{reflist}}
== External links ==

@ZooBlazer: that's all. Vestrian24Bio 11:18, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For the final point, notes aren't references so shouldn't be listed under that heading, the current setup is standard practice, please stop requesting this. Indagate (talk) 11:37, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

TOC limit shouldn't be removed just because it doesn't work with the Vector 2022 skin. That is a flaw with the skin, not the template. It is still widely used and accepted on Wikipedia. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:41, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, 'posttraumatic' should be 'post-traumatic'.
    • Done
  • London could be linked to London directly in Dark World section.
    • Done
  • Blu-ray can be linked directly in the "Short films" section.
    • Done

Vestrian24Bio 13:11, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Vestrian24Bio Addressed everything that I could. -- ZooBlazer 16:46, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and swapped the images of Feige, Gunn, and the Russos to ones specifically around the time of this phase, rather than later images used in other phase articles. Trailblazer101 (talk) 17:17, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
