Why is he in the fictional homophobes category? MrDrak

Height

[edit]

I don't think Marv is 7 foot in the movie. If he was that guy who eyes he plunged his thumbs into would be around 8 or 9 foot.

clothing

[edit]

can we add what types of clothing the character marv wore in the movie and possibly brand names? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pauldonald86 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The important types of clothing are already described (trench coat, white undershirt, etc.). We don't need to be more specific in an encyclopedic article. Definitely no need for brand names. That information should be reserved for fan sites. --71.255.64.64 (talk) 05:33, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Marv (Sin City)

[edit]

Marv should be a disambiguation page. The fictional character in Sin City is not the primary usage of this word in English texts and assigning this title to the page about that fictional character is an extreme case of both recentism and US-centric bias among English Wikipedians (to get an idea about the usage of this word in English texts, compare Marv+Persia and Marv+Sin City). Alefbe (talk) 10:05, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems right, but don't forget to upgrade the links to Marv so that they link to the new name for the character's article instead of a disambiguation page. MBelgrano (talk) 13:56, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this subject worth its own entry?

[edit]

Perhaps everything that can be written about this character can be condensed down to a shorter section under Sin City's list of characters. It might not be significant enough to have its own entry. Alialiac (talk) 13:56, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. Marv is one of most recognisable characters from SinCity series, along with Hartigan.
Article belongs here, for sure. Besides, what makes him worser than other comics characters who
all have their own pages?77.253.23.158 (talk) 00:57, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I love Sin City, and Marv is one of my favorite comic book superheroes... But this is a general interest encyclopedia and the character simply isn't big enough to warrant his own article. Just because I like a thing personally doesn't mean I'll support it having a page on Wikipedia. If someone ever wants to do a formal move proposal, I'll support it, just leave me a note on my talk page. Blue Danube (talk) 05:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Appearances section

[edit]

The "Appearances in the Sin City series" section seems to place a disproportionate amount of attention on Marv's role in The Hard Goodbye without a comparable amount of detail on his three subsequent appearances. As such, it inadvertently emphasizes the plot of the first film, which it shares. Can the three following sections be further developed, or perhaps combined, so as to provide a greater picture of Marv's role in the comic? --FacultiesIntact (talk) 04:31, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
