Controversy? I understood that Wild America was cancelled and Marty Stouffer was disgraced after it was discovered that he had staged many violent encounters between animals, sometimes setting up unrealistic but sensational matchups, such as a mountain lion killing a (tame) lynx..

No mention of this at all is strange... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.131.172.157 (talkcontribs) 19:11, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any sources on this? And I wonder if you could say whether these allegations were ever proven. Me (talk) 18:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The sources linked in the article make mention of these allegations. I looked around and didn't see anything definitive. I hate to say this (since I like Wild America) but the controversy should probably be mentioned somehow. It did cast a bit of a shadow on things, according to those articles, though nothing was ever proven. -Anonymous Suggestion —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.144.63.131 (talk) 23:53, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marty Stouffer directed the Mountain Dew ad where the ram head-butts the man. I believe he narrated it as well. Google will provide some info, but I'm not sure it is noteworthy.ExtremeSquared (talk) 07:55, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He saw fit to parody his own distinct vocal and cinematic style. This should be considered relevant enough to include in the article. rowley (talk) 14:22, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems rather incomplete without at least some mention of the scandal and subsequent cancellation of Wild America after the allegations of animal cruelty and deception used by Stouffer in the filming of the show. robo 22:43, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Stouffer needs a Wikipedia article. Check out his accomplishments on IMDb174.90.222.96 (talk) 18:36, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was surprised to not see a mention of this in the article. It should be added. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 15:29, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not encyclopaedic

[edit]

Not long after Wild America peaked in popularity, Marty Stouffer provided voiceover for a Mountain Dew soft drink ad which parodied Wild America. Youtube Video ExtremeSquared (talk) 22:59, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

court case concluded

[edit]

Court case noted at the end concluded, with prejudice, apparently. Perhaps adding a sentence at the very end, with a reference to the link below would be useful. I've edited very little here, and would leave it to someone competent at editing this correctly than trying it. Thanks.
