Since I am not a native English speaker and I don't want to risk ending up in a grammatical edit war over somebody's suicide. I put this edit suggestion here instead of changing the article right away.
"On the day of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, he committed suicide, after battling cancer. He died in the hospital five days later"
Shouldn't it be: he attempted suicide instead of committed suicide?
If you commit suicide, I don't understand how you can be treated in a hospital for five days.
