Medawala inscription

[edit]

Medawala inscription is a rock inscription found in Medawala Rajamaha Viharaya. According to this article, Martanda has appointed tax collectors to collect taxes from the villages of Sinduruvana, Balawita, Matale, Dumbara and Sagamathunarata which belonged to the Gampola kingdom. This fact is dubious and therefore, I would like to know the reference of this statement.
Also, there is another rock inscription in the same village by the name Madawala inscription and it has no connection with Aryacakravartis.--L Manju (talk) 12:51, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@L Manju: There's a reference to this in K. M. de Silva's A History of Sri Lanka (page 136 - search for Marthandan Perumal).--Obi2canibe (talk) 11:32, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
