Could somebody put together a wikitable for Marshawn's statistics like the article on Adrian Peterson does? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cycrutchfield (talkcontribs)

I attempted to edit the article to remove the reference to Lynch being a "National Football League running back for the Buffalo Bills." He is not. While he was drafted, he has not been signed to a contract, so he is neither an NFL running back nor a member of the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, the reference has re-appeared. Born in Oakland or Alameda?

Was Lynch born in Oakland or Alameda? --Louis Guel 19:02, 24 July 2007 (UTC) his momma and daddy are alive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.193.71.27 (talk) 02:53, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

[edit]

The section talking about the recent hit and run case that Marshawn Lynch is involved in contains the same caliber of information all relating to personal issues that Marshawn Lynch has been involved in. It is superfluous and there is no need for it to have its own section. Arzakon (talk) 19:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Please see my reasons under Needs New Section. MagnoliaSouth (talk) 18:28, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

i am sure this is of use:

To anyone working on this article. Kingturtle (talk) 21:12, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to what Kingturtle linked: Lynch has been charged and punishments have been publicly released. However, the NFL has yet to make any moves due to their player personal conduct policy. Arzakon (talk) 22:15, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beast Mode?

[edit]

C'mon, he didn't coin that phrase. It's from that popular '90s Transformers TV series, Beast Wars. I think the word "coined" should be taken out and the sentence reworded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.31.114.93 (talk) 12:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rock Solid?

[edit]

Why does "Rock Solid" redirect here? There's no mention of it in the article. I was looking for information on the masonry television show. 68.63.165.28 (Talk: [[1]]) 16:15, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It shouldn't, so I removed the redirect. However now Rock solid is basically empty so it might get deleted. --BrokenSphereMsg me 17:42, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bias

[edit]

There is fan bias in the majority of this article that needs to be addressed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.73.142.56 (talk) 04:56, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this. Take the person above who says that his arrests shouldn't have its own section. Someone doesn't want them highlighted. I think once this page is cleaned up, it needs locking. Any others who agree or disagree? MagnoliaSouth (talk) 18:43, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that locking is a possible solution, but would it be possible to only lock parts of it? I'm a Seahawks fan and would like to be able to stop by and update his stats after a game now and then.Bro rick (talk) 16:24, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Font Color and Relations with media

[edit]

Any reason why the font color for the titles of the seasons with the Seahawks are blue and for the Bills they're black?

The paragraph under Personal Life about his relations with the media seems like it should be moved to be part of his playing record, since it's directly related to his job. But it spans two seasons (at this point). Should it be moved and divided between 2013 and 2014? Bro rick (talk) 16:21, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it's professional and not personal, but since it is not seasonally related, it doesn't belong under either of those. It needs its own section. I would say a section on infractions or disciplinary actions. However, it needs checking with the NFL wikiproject, for consistency. I don't see any guidelines so I'll post a question about it. There should be some guidelines so this is odd. MagnoliaSouth (talk) 18:50, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any guidance at the NFL wikiproject about font colors of section headings?Bro rick (talk) 16:28, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Needs New Section

[edit]

This article is terrible. It is a bunch of ramblings with facts and dates. I would hardly call it prose. Let us refocus on what this article is about. First off, it's a biography. It should include section biographic sections such as 'early life' and 'personal life'. He is not an object, he is a human being, so these facts do matter. Second, as done, he is a pro football player so it should have his high school, college and NFL career, which are here. His infractions with the law are most definitely pertinent, so they fall under personal life and having its own section would not be incorrect. His infractions with the NFL are also pertinent, but fall under his professional career. Often you'll see a heading 'controversies' and that is perfectly acceptable to be added and used. His refusal to speak to the press and so forth would belong there, not under personal life. Remember, there is a personal life and a professional life. Do not confuse the two. His life is full of controversies, but I pass no judgment on that. In fact, I'm a Seahawks fan (see my Twitter) it's just that facts are facts. Let us try to remain as unbiased as possible and let the readers decide for themselves. Let us also keep it organized and readable. Right now it is neither. MagnoliaSouth (talk) 18:40, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lock this article!

[edit]

There is way too much vandalism happening to this page right now. Even if most of it is caught by the bots, it is a sign that this page should not be open to edits. The page should be locked until at least after the Super Bowl (Feb 1 2015), when the attention on Marshawn Lynch will likely fade. Zetrock (talk) 07:27, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Source #12 is incorrectly cited with a 'date published' of '12/31/1969' which is INCORRECT. If you follow the link to the YouTube page of the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqMsT_2teus) you will notice an upload/publish date of 'Oct 21, 2006'. Please review and change!

Not done: I have instead removed all YouTube links used as reference from the article. Because YouTube is not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 03:49, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit is incorrect, please undo your edit. Also please note that Wikipedia allows for YouTube links 'if their authenticity can be confirmed, or as a secondary source if they can be trace to a reliable publisher' and if you look closer to the video you will notice that the publisher of the actual production is 'FSN HD' or 'Fox Sports Network' (right upper corner). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Billyd992 (talkcontribs) 21:39, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Marshawn just retired, so it should say "Former NFL Running Back" and should be noted in his Career

Marshawn announced his retirement by posting a photo on Twitter of his cleats hanging on a power line. EDIT: EDIT: No, the retirement is not official. It's cryptic at best and shouldn't be stated so definitively. Nidhick (talk) 19:06, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
