Someone declared this a POV, wich it may be, but did not put comments here about why it is. I took the POV off for the moment so that if there is an issue, it could be documented as to why it needed to be done.

I plan a re-write of this section, and I have been gathering documentation about the event. Mind you, who knows when I will find the time to do it. Ghengiscohen 18:40, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marshall was one of my closest friends in High School

[edit]

Marshall was one of my closest friends in High School...off the chart smart...easily bored....unfortunately....combined with having chosen to stay in FL and with the enormous consumption of narcotics....equaled a recipe for disaster...for someone with untapped potential...this was a tragic ending...wow...dont know what made me wikipedia him...anyone else know him???

  • I was at FSU when he pulled the stunt. Awesome! At the risk of being crass and nosey, WTF happened! Damn, mofo, boredom sucks. Ennui. Reading wikipedia 10 hours a night helps me, along w/ youtube followups Holon67 (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well...lets put it this way...in junior high he decided to pick up military gaming...read guns and ammo...wore fatigues to school...and the next year he was "the photographer"...carrying around a Nikon...snapping shots of everyone in school at a moments notice...a few months would go by and he was the "chess master"...carrying a board around challenging anyone to a game of speed chess...a few more months and he joined track....skinny kid....running the 800....nearly killed himself doing it...but lived it for a few months....until the next thing came along...he just got bored of the mundane...constantly searching....but never focused enough to channel it all in one direction...would have made a brilliant scientist...because he had incredible creativity...I saw him in the summer of 92 and he was a shell of himself...undoubtedly medicated....tore me apart...he used to write me letters when I was at Berkeley.

@@@@@@@@ I was his next door neighbor at FSU when he took the Capital. I didn't know him well, but what I knew was a brillant, gentle person. He used to move insects out of his path rather than step on them. Hope he's find his peace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.136.0.190 (talk) 13:48, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

It seems to me that the subject of the article isn't sufficiently notable to have a dedicated page on Wikipedia. So I added the "Notability" issue template to the top of the page. It's certainly true that the references provided in the article don't establish notability. There's a one-paragraph piece from a local paper about his suicide, and a longer article (again from a local paper) that's actually mostly about the career retrospective of a retiring police sergeant.Chris Arnesen 16:35, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think having Jello Biafra write a song about you and having a book written about you qualifies you as notable. DistasteForUsernames (talk) 07:56, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i certainly disagree the subject is not notable. this one event was an astonishing piece of performance art.Zach bender (talk) 04:07, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
