Bias

[edit]

While I'm sure the Turkish Special Forces are a very professional group of soldiers, the tone of the article is too cheerleaderish. Ng.j 00:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They are the "special" part of the Turkish Special Forces ;) Can you tell me which sentences make you think that the article is biased? We can fix it. Deliogul 12:54, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Some citations would help. Ng.j 15:25, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think Ng.j is right, even though I'm sure they all deserve all the praise, it should be presented in an encyclopedic manner. - Mehmet

Well I've seen couple of less ridiculous articles tagged with 'inappropriate tone' or something.Amanitin 20:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Education & Training, Specifications and Current Role, Maroon Beret's Standard Weaponry includes, Uniforms". We can delete these sections because there is no healthy data about them. On the other hand, it is better that we know less about them so they can do what they want :) Deliogul 22:08, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Special Forces Championship

[edit]

"They became first at the World Special Forces Championship 2004 in Germany. They overcame American Delta Forces, German GSG-9, and French GIGN."

Unless you have a documented source for this, I find it rather hard to believe, thus am deleting it. If there is actually a source, feel free to re-insert the phrase but with a citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.10.119.91 (talk) 21:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Official documentation was provided but it has been removed again?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.224.193.219 (talk) 13:10, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Motto

[edit]

Shouldn't it be "thousand rise" ?

TheMightyGeneral (talk) 12:35, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Urban legend championship.

[edit]

I see this was already discussed previously, but there is literally zero evidence of a "Special Forces championship" that was held within germany in 2004, in which highly classified tier 1 units sent in teams to participate.

This seems like a ridicilous attempt of propaganda, considering the source "haberturk" is known for being biased and publishing false news, even aside that the article is quite literally empty with a bunch of nonsense backed up by no evidence.

With some little amounts of research you would know that JSOC will never send troops to participate in public events, as the identities of their members are kept hidden and almost every member is supposed to be operational. For these reason I'm deleting this part, feel free to re-insert it if you have a decent unbiased source.

Wikipedia is not a tool to spread propaganda, I do understand that patriotic individuals may want to boast their soldiers, but please try to be a honest person and glorify your soldiers with ethical ways. Have a good day. TristanHeller (talk) 15:32, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The link was already reliably sourced; I've reverted your blanking which claimed that that there was no "viable" source. The reference in the article is to a contemporaneous article from Hurriyet in 2004, which is the largest newspaper in Turkey, not to "haberturk" as you seem to be mistaken about. As Hurriyet is a widely used source (arguably a paper of record), if you have evidence that this somehow violates our reliable sourcing policies (note: "bias" is not sufficient to show lack of reliability per policy), please present appropriate diffs to a noticeboard or other appropriate discussion on the source's reliability and evidence to support your claim. You are also reminded that you are required to assume good faith and not cast aspersions about other editors -- accusing other editors without evidence of spreading "propaganda" and being dishonest or unethical is not acceptable behavior here. This is the second article you've disrupted this month. If it continues, you're going to be blocked from editing. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 15:11, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Provide the link to the second article please. TristanHeller (talk) 17:06, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is the talk page for the Special Forces Command (Turkey) article; it is not the appropriate venue for debating behavior on other articles, and I've already warned you on your talk page with the appropriate links. (As well, given that you've literally only ever touched two articles in your entire editing history and you're actively edit warring on the other article, I'm skeptical of any confusion on this matter.) SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 17:29, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right, so refrain from framing me about a irrelevant article in this discussion page, my talk page is open if you want to fill that up with your text.
Also I suggest you delete the respective part of your reply as it's not appropriate, according to your own statement. TristanHeller (talk) 20:42, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to suggest whatever you'd like. Good luck with that. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 01:53, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I guess according to you, the armenian genocide is not real, because "hurriyet" Thinks it's a "allegation" so far no one has provided a foreign source to confirm the reality of a "special forces championship." This is because it's fake. Even the "official" documents provided contradicts with hurriyet's article, as delta force is not even in the list. TristanHeller (talk) 08:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for providing a source that confirms unambiguously that the Special Forces Command did in fact come in first place in the championship in 2004. It's clear that you are not actually bothering to read the sources you're citing. For example, nothing in that link "contradicts with Hurriyet's article" -- the list you're looking at is quite clearly from 2005, not 2004. And I will warn you once and once only: Do not attribute to me words or opinions that I've not said, particularly about genocide denial. That is an obscene allegation. Should you do so again, there will be consequences. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 16:27, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
