Stylistic consideration

[edit]

I have made some stylistic alterations to some of the phrasing, without changing the relevant information. Most of the changes I made were to correct overly-long sentences, whose salient points were lost in the meandering style. Please consider the style of the piece before undoing any corrections, and please add more facts as you know them. Markyate is a lovely village and deserves a brilliant Wiki-post. Yes, I know it does, I've lived there for an awfully long time! However, the changes you made weren't "stylistic" but removed facts and added hypotheses, also changing the style from straight-forward NPOV to some 'guide book prose' type of thing. Of the former, for example, you removed Luton, 40, wife of landowner (not "lived with") and the factual info about the boundary changes. On the latter "no doubt due in part" is OR of the worst kind. As such you have removed substantial "relevant information" and I am re-instating it. --AlisonW (talk) 17:05, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
