Markets and fairs

[edit]

There does not seem to be an article on the British tradition of Markets and Fairs and the awarding of Charters by the King to hold these to towns. --jmb (talk) 13:31, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That appears true. Ilkeston, Market Drayton, and Watton, Norfolk all mention charters granted by the King, while Summercourt fair goes so far as to red link Charter Fair. List of organisations in the United Kingdom with a royal charter neglects both fairs and markets. Looks like a lack in Wikipedia coverage. - BanyanTree 13:52, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Market (disambiguation)Market – the article "market" currently redirects to market (economics), and this is not logical as two very common meanings in English are market (economics) and market (place). Therefore, this disambiguation page should become the main article "market" allowing readers to choose between the two main senses of the word. Keizers (talk) 16:48, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
