Cat shirt claim
[edit]The entry claims he hasn't worn a shirt that didn't have a cat on it since 2010, but here is a video of him doing just that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw0bGiVDTMI Crap, nevermind, they're tiny cats. Jesus.
I believe he posted on Instagram recently and he did NOT have a cat shirt - but he did have cat socks! If any one cares enough to track this down it can be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.78.95.30 (talk) 19:16, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
Surname pronunciation
[edit]Anyone can add the pronunciation of the word Danielewski? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.20.245.54 (talk) 19:13, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- In Polish it would be [daɲɛˈlɛfskʲi], though I'm not sure if he doesn't use an anglicized pronunciation. Pittmirg 17:53, 6 July 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pittmirg (talk • contribs)
nominated for what?
[edit]The article currently contains this strange sentence:
- House of Leaves is Danielewski’s first and probably best known novel, for which he was nominated in 2001 in the category First Novel.
Nominated for what in the category First Novel? I presume some sort of award, but which one? --Delirium 23:10, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
So, does anyone know what this Z in his name stands for?
- It probably stands for nothing in particular. He never used a middle initial back in high school. If you really wanted to know his full name, I am pretty certain it would still be available in school records at Provo High School in Provo, Utah. 71.231.102.185
- He's said in various interviews that it does stand for something, but that, in keeping with a promise which he made to himself as a kid, he refuses to tell anyone other than his wife (who has yet to exist) what it stands for.
- The Z could be "Zampano"? (the fictional character in House of Leaves).
- He's said in various interviews that it does stand for something, but that, in keeping with a promise which he made to himself as a kid, he refuses to tell anyone other than his wife (who has yet to exist) what it stands for.
I can see there is not much biographical info about MZD (such as personal life) maybe he shuns media attention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.206.41.100 (talk) 13:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Z. stands for Zbigniew, his father's middle name. AmaçsızBirKişi (talk) 09:45, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Second book?
[edit]There seems to be two conflicting lines:
- House of Leaves, Danielewski's first novel, has gained a considerable cult following. His second novel, Only Revolutions, was released in 2006.
Then there's a list:
- March 2000: House of Leaves
- Oct. 2000: The Whalestoe Letters
- Oct. 2005: The Fifty Year Sword
- Sept. 2006: Only Revolutions
So... which one's the second? Whalestoe Letters or Only Revolutions?
- "The Whalestoe Letters" and "The Fifty Year Sword" are not novels, and are, in fact, both novellas.--128.2.8.24 (talk) 02:19, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
