Name
[edit]I suggest to consider using the spelling 'Ogboe', which reflects the pronunciation of the name in Greek and Nigerian. 'Ogkmpoe' is the legal Greek spelling but that is because 'gk' and 'mp' are used for the digraphs 'γκ, 'μπ' which represent the sounds /g/ and /b/ respectively. [The legal Greek spelling is influenced by Greek orthographical conventions]
Concerning that, any choice can make sense and I almost never edit pages in Wikipedia. But take into account that often we don't use the legal spelling. Some examples are Basinas and not Mpasinas, Dabizas and not Dampizas, Goumas and not Gkoumas.
I have read also that his mother is Greek. The cited article says that he 'holds Greek and Nigerian nationality'. Maybe it should be clear that he also have some Greek ancestry through his mother. Apostolos Papadimitriou (talk) 16:13, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- Regarding the name, we should use the proper spelling, not those that others have regurgitated in error.
- Regarding his mother, where is the reliable source that his mother is Greek? GiantSnowman 16:17, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- But there wasn't a reliable source that he had 'Nigerian descent' but that he 'holds Greek and Nigerian nationality'. His mother is Greek. [1][2][3]
- I would write something like: Ogkmpoe holds Greek and Nigerian nationality. His father is Nigerian and his mother is Greek. Apostolos Papadimitriou (talk) 05:46, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
