She's not dead: '16:47: Pablo Esparza, BBC Mundo Mariela Castro, daughter of Cuba's President Raul Castro, talks live to Venezuela's Telesur TV: "I'm alive, happy and healthy... Maybe the media that published that news needed a bit of publicity but here I am."' [2] 31.153.116.129 (talk) 15:57, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Overall, I think the article could benefit from contextualizing the persecution of LGBT peoples in post-Revolution Cuba. This would strengthen the article's discussion of her role as Director of the Cuban National Center for Sex Education. Reading this article, I'm intrigued with regards to any influence she might have had on governments policies, given her blood relation to Fidel and Raúl Castro, related to homosexuality. Additionally, the article mentions her scholarly articles, and I was curious as to whether there was any information about her education that could be added to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kvanhoutengudger21 (talkcontribs) 03:10, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to the above, I think it'd be good to contextualize it further with information on her interactions with her parents - as in any conflicts or disagreements public or private, if there's any accessible interviews available that could give that info. -Tristan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tristan Donohoe (talkcontribs) 12:45, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
