bullshit comment

[edit]

"possibly caused by her lifelong addiction to cigarettes" a sentence like that has no business showing its ugly head in an article. you don't speculate about the cause of death in a wiki article, and where are the sources that say she was "addicted" to cigarettes? Bullshit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.38.208.30 (talk) 15:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's in the source, it's relevant given her work on addiction, and (unlike for living people) we have no restrictions on censoring out the ugly parts of the lives of the dead. She may have done good things but that doesn't mean we should falsely portray her as a saint in her personal life, and in any case tobacco addiction is pretty low on the scale of bad things one could say about a person. I did leave out of the article some accusations of sexual improprieties that I found (also relevant given her later advocacy of traditional family values) because I didn't think the source was reliable enough for that. —David Eppstein (talk) 16:09, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
