My Two Cents

[edit]

I saw that one of you guys took out my previous edit from the "Criticisms" section of this page - and I know you claimed that "hunting animals for human consumption doesn't always happen in slaughterhouses". This is very true. However, I do remember learning that many of the arguments that PETA regularly makes to promote global veganism, as well as documentaries like Cowspiracy and What the Health, have received a large number of criticisms from contemporary biologists, environmentalists, dietitians, nutritionists, medical doctors, investigative journalists, and even other animal rights groups like the ASPCA - for what they consider "confusing correlation with causation", cherry-picking scientific studies, using biased sources, belying study findings, and making claims based on "minuscule data at most". And we all know without a doubt that the industries I just mentioned here are predominantly owned by either vegan people or people who restrict their intake of animal-based foods to some extent. Obviously, their purpose is to convince us that we as a society do need to rely on plant-based foods more and animal-based foods less - but they also agree that the world will most likely be unsustainable if virtually everybody adopted a vegetarian or vegan diet.

I also found this:

Honestly, I would say that this is probably the most diplomatic and realistic approach on the whole topic. Also, just look at the home page of that website - they still agree that the factory farming industry sucks in the way they treat animals for human consumption...although that's a separate issue. And like I said before, I am actually a vegetarian myself, but I am still standing by on my opinion here. Whether you guys agree is up to you though! --100.35.161.16 (talk) 16:23, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
