Marcellus, Michigan (Township vs Village)
[edit]I am working to clean up a lot of links that are sending people to the wrong places.
The Marcellus, Michigan, pages does not reflect the proper name, that I why I have moved it twice. In Michigan there is a Marcellus Village and a township. These are two different types of government, and areas.
This is no different than the Marcellus (town) in New York, and Marcellus (village) in New York.
* Marcellus (town), New York o Marcellus (village), New York
Several location have similar names, Thus the need to mark the need to highlight which is which.
Change Marcellus, Michigan to reflect the correct name Marcellus (village), Michigan is moving it to the proper naming convention.
Thank you for understanding the need to correct this problem, and leave them as the proper names to reflect the current form of government and geographic areas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.123.128 (talk) 22:14, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Towns and Villages in New York use a different naming convention than most other states, with the exception of Wisconsin and a few New England states. In Michigan, "Township" is a part of the name and differentiates it from the village. Look at Category:Villages in Michigan -- none use "(village)" to distinguish them, even though many have the same name as the township in which they are located. There needs to be some verifiable evidence from reliable sources that this village needs to be disambiguated differently from all the other similar villages in Michigan. older ≠ wiser 22:33, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
