Content blanking

[edit]

As an anonymous IP user continues to remove negative but reliably sourced content from the article, some pointers to Wikipedia's policies may be helpful. The only reason for the removal was provided in the edit summary "deleted some untruths", however when I checked the sources provided it was clear that the summary was inaccurate. I only restored one of the two sourced items removed (as one falls under WP:BLPCRIME). The sourced item I restored was the reason why he resigned from a prominent position. It is a single sentence in the article, so not WP:UNDUE, and given his profession is a significant event. Finally, the subject himself is quoted ""I resigned when the news of an affair I had with a consenting adult woman, while I was an ordained member of the Catholic priesthood, became public,", so the statement from the IP that they are removing "untruths" is incorrect. So as the information is relevant, well sourced, and directly addressed by the BLP subject, I don't see how it meets any of the criteria for WP:BLPREMOVE.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:10, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
