Vice captain

[edit]

He's 3rd keeper now, no way he's still vice captain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.62.53.113 (talk) 14:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nickname

[edit]

Is there any source for the "Fawlty Manuel" nickname? It doesn't seem appropriate now. PlayCollective —Preceding unsigned comment added by PlayCollective (talkcontribs) 00:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel it is appropriate given the amount of mistakes he makes. The nickname, whether good or bad is there for a reason and SHOULD be included in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.203.94 (talk) 12:53, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The nickname is not 'official' and is only used loosely by fans. So this should not be used unless an official reference can be cited. Kieran96336 (talk) 21:16, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook hoax?

[edit]

I'm not sure that the Facebook reference is serious. Bearian (talk) 23:10, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is the page all messed up? Can someone please fix it, thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.52.131 (talk) 15:22, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Naming

[edit]

Right now there's an ugly mixture of "Almunia", "Manuel" and "he" dotted throughout the article. This should be standardised. But to what? Almunia? I know that's how the English press refer to him, but don't the Iberian naming conventions mean we go by his middle name? Chris Cunningham (talk) 23:22, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Almunia" is not his middle name; it is his paternal surname. "Rivero" is his maternal surname. I believe he should be referred to as "Almunia", just as you would refer to "Rooney" or "Lampard". phreakydancin (talk) 18:58, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

England goalkeeper

[edit]

Is it truly worth noting, I don't think the article is meant to be satirical or funny in any way, so best to weed it out I think.Londo06 10:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is worth noting because he could play for England because hes never played for Spain and I think he can get an English passport at the end of the year. The C of E (talk) 09:19, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

This guy's gotta be taller than 6'4". Almunia's clearly taller than the 6'4" Bendtner and looks to have more than just 2 inches on Sol Campbell. Anyone know of any links to support this? Depor23 (talk) 00:13, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arsenal Hero?

[edit]

This is surely completely subjective. I don't think many Arsenal fans would regard Almunia as an 'Arsenal hero'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.77.121.195 (talk) 18:58, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Craig Podmore??

[edit]

Who the heck is Craig Podmore that Almunia supposedly replaced as number one?

I'd bet that Craig placed that there himself. Can someone please correct it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.212.164.4 (talk) 17:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Protection

[edit]

With the continual vandalism that occurs to this page, is it not time to protect it? --Shylocksboy (talk) 17:37, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
