[edit]The bulk of the text was lifted from here, complete with redundant references to tables that appear in the original. I chopped it out, hope that's the right thing to do - the page is copyright BirdLife International. It was devoid of context and very technical anyway, which is what caught my attention. Sorry but I don't really know enough about the subject to really do new content justice.
