Taxon

[edit]

Given as a Myuchelys in the 2017 checklist. Myuchelys purvisi Regards, Sun Creator(talk)

There was a publication, also in 2017, in which the genus "Flaviemys" was described. Mghp00 (talk) 07:49, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In agreement with @Sun Creator: the name Flaviemys was sunk by Spinks et al. in 2015 pdf and this was followed by the IUCN Checklist 2017 and currently also by the Reptile Database and Wikispecies. As such the correct name for the time being is Myuchelys. @Mghp00: You have stated that there was a paper in 2017 that apparently resurrected the name but you did not provide the reference. An ITIS report does not consitute a taxonomic decision. Names should be reverted to Myuchelys. Cheers Scott Thomson (Faendalimas) talk 04:09, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to this species

[edit]

Hi Nuggetman07 saw your recent edits on this page. I do not think attributing all this information to the web page of Aussie Ark is a great idea since all this information is available in books and publications. Most likely that have been condensed into the web page your reading. I have changed some of it but in the section on its endangered status I have not. I suggest you look at its IUCN assessment, Environment Agency (NSW) assessment etc and look to the references of actual research done to support this issue. I have reported this s a copy violation, after realising the recent text by Nuggetman07 was copy and pasted from a website. I can rewrite this entire article if wanted but cannot do it this week. The taxobox is fine. Cheers Scott Thomson (Faendalimas) talk 01:49, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
