Objecting PROD
[edit]I am going to remove the PROD tag from the top of this article. I did not understand the rationale behind removing many formatting changes and reflist template when User:Shadowjams added PROD tag. The reason given for PROD was No sources cited, and I can find no record of him anywhere except on Wikipedia. Sources were already cited there; however, as the significant contributors were new on Wikipedia, they might not know about using proper wiki markups and correct formatting.
And about no record of him except Wikipedia, I found at least a couple of newspaper articles in reputed newspapers describing him as a eminent Sanskrit scholor.[1] [2]. Also, a few refs are added to the article now.
Frankly speaking, I know nothing about the subject of the article, but I have no doubt about its notability. I think the PROD tag should be removed and I am going to remove it. This article has a lot of room to improve and the users who significantly contributed to it are very new on Wikipedia. I believe they would learn much from this experience. However, if anyone is still unsatisfied about the article and still wants to remove it, then nominate it for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Shivashree (talk) 03:27, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
I tried to collect inline and offline information about Manmohan Acharya and his contribution. His notability is unquestioned. He is a known figure in the field of creative writing and research in sanskrit. He is only sanskrit poet after SriJayadeva(11th century) whose lyrics could be selected and placed in an International movie. Hence, I removed the tag of unclear notability from the top of the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sydney Ambrose (talk • contribs) 16:35, 10 June 2010 (UTC)<Sydney Ambrose (talk) 16:45, 10 June 2010 (UTC).
