The sole inventor is Balzer

Balzer had 3 cylinder radial engine driven motocycle and patent in 1896, years before he met with Manly. --Peddigsten (talk) 09:48, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For what its worth, the engine described in the patent seems to be a rotary engine, not a radial: "The invention consists in a motor or engine having a casing adapted to rotate around a crank shaft or axle, and provided with a plurality of cylinders and pistons and novel means for taking in, utilizing, and exhausting the actuating medium." [1] The Smithsonian Institution likewise describes it as a "four-stroke-cycle, air-cooled three-cylinder rotary". [2] Not that it matters really, since this article doesn't make any assertion one way or another as to whether Balzar invented anything. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:57, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
