Talk:Manifest file

I replaced a long-winded page which basically duplicated some Java documentation about JAR files with a short stub about the term's meaning in general computing. I reviewed the pages which link here, and a good number of them do so in the context which the page now documents, not its specific use in JAR files (although there are links of that kind as well; but I think they work acceptably with the new contents, too).   • I was going to say it's a clearly written article, but it does indeed look like they copied most of the article straight from Sun's site --IByte (talk) 09:58, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Not only is it weak, but I expected some mention of the traditional MANIFEST file in linux tarballs, which (I believe) predate Java's usage. 71.249.207.26 (talk) 20:21, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
