Chaudhry Bahadin Gondal
[edit]This particular area was uninhabited until Chaudhry Bahaduin a Gondal of the Jat tribe established a trading post. He brought with himself a 'Khatri' of the trding caste and established a Mandi 'trading post' here which became popular and eventually established into the present town. This information was recorded in the census report carried out by the Pakistani government in the 1990's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.39.142.147 (talk) 17:44, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

"City of lions"
[edit]I've moved this claim from the article's introduction here:
It is also known as the city of lions.[1]
The document cited has no mention of "city of lions". I've not been able to find any other source for this claim; it's not in the introduction to the Urdu version, either. Bibliosporias (talk) 21:33, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- I've done more digging. First, I find from the edit history that the claim was inserted at the end of the paragraph, between the existing text and the reference to the District Police Office web site; the latter was therefore not relevant to the claim.
- Secondly, I've found a reference backing up the claim. I've thus reinserted the claim, giving it its proper citation, and replacing the original citation in its proper place. I think that it's all OK now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bibliosporias (talk • contribs) 21:50, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
